Various English cultural game booths hosted by some Native-English Teachers from different countries such as the UK, the US and India, etc. feature their special customs, cuisines and cultures. All S1 – 3 students were given opportunities to learn authentic English through playing fun games and chatting with the NETs on 9 Oct 2013 during the English Week. |

One of the highlights of our English Week events was the Karaoke performances. We were fortunate to have Pansy Tang and Vivian Wong from 6A perform for us. We were also blessed to have our Principal, Ms Cheung, and our fellow colleague, Mr. Chan perform two fantastic songs for us: 'Top of the World' and 'You Raise Me Up'. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances. It was an excellent way to end the English Week celebrations!!! |

十月十六日四位新加坡教育局專員親臨本校進行課堂研究的交流。四位來賓透過參觀校園、座談分組，了解本地中學及課研推動的情況。過程中，彼此交流兩地教育文化，互相學習，而本校推動課研的方向及策略，為新加坡代表所肯定並讚揚的。 |

A fun-filled week of English Events was created for students from October 7th to October 11th. The week started with our Form 1 Quiz Competition with Acuity House taking top honors. During lunch time we had our 10 Game Booths which challenged your grammar ability, vocabulary strength, listening and speaking skills. After school, our Form 1 Orienteering Game took place and it certainly helped them learn their way around the school. Both our junior and senior students were able to learn English through a drama called 'Cinder Ella', which showcased the theme of Social Media and its influences. We had 100-challenging questions that tested the student's knowledge of the world and their riddle abilities and about 60 students were able to fill over half the questions in three days. We also had Form 2 and 3 Quiz Competitions with Sincerity House capturing the win for Form 2, followed by Loyalty House taking top position in Form 3 . The students were very active and were quite happy to fill out their English Passport in order to claim their prizes. It was an 'Awesome' week for all! |

經過27/9及10/10兩天激烈賽事，由6C班以全勝姿態，勇奪畢業盃冠軍。亞軍由6B獲得，6A及6D班雖分列三、四名，但賽事戰況激烈，各隊勢均力敵，技術接近又拼勁十足，多場賽事未到最後一刻也不知鹿死誰手，甚至要加時才能分勝負呢！各班健兒不論成敗，最低限度也曾努力過、也曾付出過，大家為自己的中學生涯留下點滴美好的回憶。 |

10月12日是香港中文大學的開放日，歷史學會特別邀請了現於該大學修讀歷史系的校友袁桂恩，帶領30位同學參觀香港中文大學校園、大學文物館及校友宿舍。袁校友親切地向同學講述大學發展歷史及分享宿舍生活點滴，同學們積極提問、投入活動，獲益良多。 |

這兩週球場非常熱鬧，有慕德中學及鄧肇堅中學男子籃球隊先後於十月三日、十月八日到訪，與本校校作友誼賽，達到以球會友，互相砥礪切磋的目的，也為學界比賽作熱身準備呢！ |

每年國慶，本校通識科老師皆會安排國慶週會，帶領同學反思國家的發展。今年的國慶週會在9月27及30日舉行，同學以戲劇形式，簡述國家由建國開始到近期發生的議題，例如文革、改革開放、航天科技、軍事力量的發展等。最後更帶領同學探討「佔領中環」的爭議，藉此加深同學對國情的了解及香港事務的認識。 |

本校18位中四至中六學生於10月5日參觀東區尤德夫人那打素醫院，包括婦產科、內科、臨床病理學部及急症室，讓同學了解部門之間相互的配合及各自提供的服務。另外，我們還出席「補腦提升有妙法」講座，讓同學了解如何透過日常活動及飲食提昇學習能力。同學們在參觀過程中亦把握機會認識工作人員的入職條件及進修途徑。 |

第十八屆社際陸運會於九月十八日及十九日在將軍澳運動場舉行，當日有一千一百多學生人次報名參加，藉此發揮學生在田徑運動的潛能，凝聚社的團結精神。參賽同學都能積極參賽，創造佳績。這屆陸運會有67項比賽達到學界標準，有此佳績，令人可喜！ |

中一級健康教育營於九月二十五至二十七日在曹公潭户外康樂營順利舉行，活動旨在讓同學學習建立健康的生活習慣，加強團隊精神及對學校的歸屬感。期間，所有同學均全程投入、積極體驗，而且尤其喜愛於首晚進行的「夜行」活動—同學須蒙上眼睛，依靠別人的指引及幫助才能完成任務，組員之間既互相關顧，亦建立了互信關係，樂也融融。盼望中一同學能細味所學所得，在往後的日子互助互愛，在李福慶大家庭裡健康快樂地成長！ |

本年度中二至中五級家長日已於九月十四日早上舉行。家長的踴躍參與正代表父母不但關心子女，也樂意與老師携手扶助同學的成長。講座內容除包括分享學校主題、教導學生建立規律生活、培養學習習慣及管教子女的技巧外，亦介紹多項海外交流組的活動，讓同學踏足世界、寓遊於學，期望同學於新學年「愛學求進、展現亮點」！ |

新學年甫開始，本校即有幸邀請得奧運乒乓球金牌得主王楠女士、第八屆「全國德藝雙韾電視藝術工作者」丁柳元女士為高中同學分享他們取得成就的心路歷程，發放正能量。身經百戰、為世界所熟知的王楠認為，邁向成功的關鍵，是要在面對挑戰時時刻保持警醒，專心致志，甘於吃苦；而曾經放棄航空界優厚職業，轉投刻苦演藝工作的丁柳元則認為，年青人要獲取成功，必須要專注、堅持，為目標仔細規劃，努力實踐，並且可多閱讀名人奮鬥傳記，啟發思維。現場師生皆踴躍提問，細心聆聽，受益匪淺；兩位嘉賓亦祝願同學們能趁年輕多作嘗試，走出夢想之路，讓生命起飛。 |

An assembly for S4 and S6 students was arranged by the Academic Committee on 30th August 2013. Two alumni, King Fung and Ben Law, were invited to share their study skills with our current students. It was our honour to have them talk about their ups and downs in their senior secondary school lives. Our students surely gained a lot from the sharing session. We are truly thankful to have great students like them. And we believe our students do learn with passion and dream with action. |

聖公會李福慶中學 2013-2014 年度開學典禮於 9 月 2 日隆重舉行，並為今年學校的主題「愛學求進、展現亮點」揭開序幕。 張翠儀校長以本校名英文簡稱「L.F.H.」，勉勵同學要憑藉信心、盼望、仁愛，為每天訂立可實踐的目標，勇於嘗試，追求進步；亦要學會尋找和欣賞別人的優點，從而自我優化，取長補短。有道是：「大必起於小」，就讓全體師生同步向前，珍惜寸陰！ |
